Better Late Than Never

I have always been a supporter of the National Rifle Association as an organization, and I believe in their mission of 2nd Amendment advocacy and firearms education and training.

However, as evidence mounted of Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre’s alleged misappropriation (theft?) of organizational funds, I personally concluded that it was time for Wayne to go. Many NRA members agreed with my assessment, and as the situation worsened, the organization began to flounder.

Today, just days ahead of his impending civil trial in the state of New York, LaPierre has announced his resignation as EVP, effective January 31st. While it remains to be seen whether or not the NRA can be revived, in my opinion, LaPierre’s departure can only be seen as a step in the right direction, and long overdue.
