Outgunned
The latest “news” making the rounds is that police responding to the mass murder at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas last year were “outgunned” by the single 18-year old armed with an AR-15 rifle.
I hate to be the one to tell you, but if one punk with one semiautomatic rifle has 367 cops (many with AR-15s of their own) outgunned, then the gun control notion of door-to-door forcible confiscation of the other 20-40 million of them is nothing more than a wet dream. If a ratio of 367:1 isn’t enough to take out one untrained punk, there is little hope for the ~660,000 total full time police officers in the United States if asked to take on even half of the low estimate of AR-15s in the country.
Ten million ARs vs 660k cops comes to about 15:1…less than one twentieth the advantage the Uvalde cops had. Never mind that if and when confiscation begins, a lot of those cops aren’t going to have the stomach for it (see Uvalde response), and many (most) of the gun owners they’d be facing will be much better trained than the Uvalde murderer.
The AR-15 is quite simply the most popular and commonly owned rifle in America, and having one in your hands doesn’t make you a killer. Even if you wear a badge.
